Once again… I got so busy with setting spring plants out, that I missed putting these pix up when C&P sent them to me!…Sorry. -g
Here’s a description of this perennial pollinator bed – adds more context to the planning of the bed. These photos are from May when everything was fresh!
Variety of hosta plants (purple blooms) with complimenting sedum (Autumn Joy – orange blooms), lavender (purple blooms), and Russian Sage (purple blooms). This bed leads into a nice neat row of hydrangeas (blue blooms). Hovering over the bed are leggy service berry trees.
We like the way the variety of greens and purples/blues look next to the red of our brick patio and brick house. Like all good beds, we have to do some tweaking now that we’re into the season. We realized our soil is too nice for the Russian Sage, so it’s taking over. Have to find a new spot for it to be ignored so it doesn’t grow so well ;). Our neighbors are keeping honey bees so they visit this bed often, and then make their way over to our vegetable garden – yay! 🙂
Love,
Callie
